Icon Restoration

Measured icon is an icon created on a special board with the same size as newborn child’s height. There is baby’s angel depicted on the board. This particular icon symbolizes close connection between child and his Saint. It can be presented to a person on any important day of his or her life: birthday, christening, graduation or other date.

Tradition of painting measured icon had been lost for some time in Russia. Now they are restored and measured icons are created not only for newborns, but for adults too. But it is important to know height of the man at birth.
